On _______ (date of ride you're participating in) I will be hopping on my bicycle and pedaling one of the longest distances I have ever gone, _____ (number of miles / kms you will ride) as part of the Ride for Refuge (www.rideforrefuge.org). I'm expecting to be awfully sore by the end! The one catch is that I need your help...

Why am I doing this, you ask? Well, I think a little sweat and pain is a small price for me to pay if by doing it, I can help transform the lives of poor people in Honduras who are suffering from violence, corruption, and injustice!

That's right, I am biking to support the Association for a More Just Society (www.ajs-us.org), an awesome group of courageous Christians who are helping poor people in Honduras who are suffering from things like gang violence, domestic violence, land grabbers who want to take poor people's land away from them, politicians who use government money for the personal benefit instead of for its intended use, etc. For example, AJS helped transform the life of Sandra, a 15-year-old girl who was sexually abused and threatened by her own father and brothers. Due to overload and lack of trust between most Hondurans and their police, most crimes are never resolved. But AJS helped rescue Sandra and hold her abusers accountable through the courts.
