Coast to Coast 2019

Get out your bicycle; put on your helmet: YOU can help improve public education in Honduras!

Costa a Costa is an annual tradition where over 150 bike riders cross the country of Honduras from “coast to coast”, covering 272 miles from Honduras’ north coast to its south, and stopping in eight major cities along the way to celebrate students and advocate for better public education in Honduras.

Your participation will bring awareness to the crucial need for improvement in Honduras’ education system, and your fundraising will support the life-changing work of the Association for a More Just Society (AJS) through Transformemos Honduras, a coalition of nonprofit organizations devoted to ensuring that the Honduran education system works.

Here’s everything you need to know to get involved:

WHO: You! And about a hundred of your new closest friends from Honduras, the US, and around the world.

WHAT & WHERE: A bike tour and race from the Northern Caribbean coast of Honduras to the Southern Pacific coast of Honduras (Fly into San Pedro Sula – SAP or Tegucigalpa – TGU)

WHEN: January 2019

WHY: To support public education reform in Honduras and raise funds for AJS’s work. To enjoy the beautiful Honduran landscape and the biggest biking event in Honduras!

COST: You raise money to cover your own costs, with extra funds going to support programs in Honduras. Participants are asked to contribute or fundraise $1,160 ($5/mile!) plus the cost of airfare to and from Honduras. This covers all food, lodging, and transportation during the event.

For more information about AJS’s work in education, and a detailed day-by-day overview of the race, check out last year’s “Ride Guide”.
